Hybrid Realism

A NEW FORM OF ARTISTIC EXPRESSION

With her hybrid realism, Steinacher is developing a new form of artistic expression that addresses the pressing issues of our time - a further development of her abstract realism that extends into the digital world.

Her monumental portraits, embedded in AI-generated, often paradoxical dystopian landscapes, create a unique visual language that challenges and shakes us up. Steinacher uses this artistic language for the first time in her current series “Nature That Breathes Us”, which she is currently working on. This specific technique serves as an artistic tool to make the urgency to act visible.

Her "dystopian memento mori" - a deliberate pleonasm - emphasises the crises of our time: climate change, scarcity of resources and global conflicts.

ART AS A CALL TO AWARENESS

Steinacher's works are by no means dystopian endpoints, however. There is no resignation in her art, but rather a call to reflection and action. For Steinacher, hybrid realism opens up new artistic possibilities that transcend the boundaries of traditional art forms and open up new conceptual horizons.

The symbiosis of digital and human handwriting results in works that not only shake us up, but also show possible solutions. Her art is a plea that the future does not have to be passively accepted, but can be actively shaped by us. Because through her portraits, which are a metaphor for everyday situations, she makes us realise that everything we do has consequences - a great responsibility, but also an equally great opportunity.
