DEVELOPMENT PROCESS - LAYERS IN DIALOGUE
Steinacher's work is a mixture of initial charcoal sketches, monochrome primers and meticulously modelled layers of paint. The layering itself is a process of transformation: each new layer changes the one underneath, creating new references and tensions. The interplay of detailed, realistic elements and abstract, dynamically stretched surfaces reflects the diversity of life.
A UNIQUE RITUAL
A special detail in Steinacher's work is the use of a textural, tactile element made of rust - "Entropia", handcrafted in an elaborate multi-stage process and a central component in each of her new works. When Steinacher creates a work of art, it is not only an act of craftsmanship, but also an alchemical transformation of matter into meaning. Rust is a powerful, process-based symbol of change.
"Entropia" becomes a unique element of her composition, emerging from the surface and inviting the viewer not only to see the artwork but to "feel" it with their eyes. The tactile quality gives Steinacher’s art a new dimension. By merging color, texture, and three-dimensional elements, the viewer’s gaze is drawn into a multi-layered world that immerses them deeply in the theme of transformation.
