CONSCIOUS LOOKING
“It Is What It Is” is based on a personal experience of Michaela Steinacher. It reflects quiet resignation – not in the sense of giving up, but of acceptance. A pause that doesn’t resist, but asks: What can I make of this? The work represents a quiet form of strength – one that doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful.
This is what “I See You” is about: looking closely, even when it’s hard. When we learn to accept our reality honestly, we create space for clarity, compassion, and new paths forward.
Steinacher explores the profound power of conscious looking - not just with the eyes, but with the whole presence of being - as an act of perception, responsibility and connection. To see is not a neutral act. It is a choice against indifference. Those who see acknowledge the existence of others, lift them out of invisibility and give them meaning.
TAKING RESPONSIBILITY
"I see you" makes it clear that "seeing" is the origin of knowledge and change. Only that which is seen can unfold. Only what is seen can have an effect. Seeing is the first impulse for transformation - the beginning of
understanding, awareness and the creation of a better future.
